Biodiesel Industry Pleads for Visiting Obama to Rescue American Jobs

With President Obama scheduled to tour an ethanol plant in Macon, Missouri, the National Biodiesel Board (NBB), located less than 100 miles to the south, pleaded for the White House to help Congress finish the job on the lapsed biodiesel tax incentive and put industry employees back to work.

Biodiesel Industry, Fuel Marketers and Retailers, & Ag Leaders Call on Congress

The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) released a letter to Congressional Leadership urging Congress to take immediate action to retroactively reinstate the biodiesel tax incentive. The NBB spearheaded this letter and was joined by several organizations representing the US biodiesel industry, fuel marketers and retailers, as well as agriculture stakeholders.

Brazil "temporarily" lifts ethanol tariff, baits trade hooks

Filed under: Ethanol , Flex-Fuel , Legislation and Policy , South/Latin America In a gesture to improve biofuel trade relations with the U.S. and other countries, Brazil’s Council of Ministers of the Board of Foreign Trade (MDIC) has temporarily lifted the country’s tariff on imported ethanol, changing the tax rate from 20 percent to zero percent.
