The Power of the Underdog: Without One, the Super Bowl Is Less Fun

For the first time in memory, I’m having trouble making myself care about the Super Bowl. It has the potential to be a great game, yet I’m already sick of hearing commenters dissect how the Giants’ vaunted pass rush will match up against golden boy Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. I haven’t made it through an episode of SportsCenter all week.

Change.org shows that we are more powerful than we think

The first petitions I ever signed were at the famous Wetlands Preverve club in New York City. A music venue (I saw the Rugburn, Ani DiFranco, and many others there) with an eco twist, it had a cool Volkswagen bus that was the centerpiece of the 'activist area,' a part of the space that was filled with information on environmental campaigns, as well as numerous paper petitions to sign.

In our A City Education series, two City Year corps members share their experiences working as tutors and mentors in schools in hopes of closing the achievement gap and ending the dropout crisis. In high school, the back wall of my French classroom was painted with a Paris scene prominently featuring the Eiffel Tower. Instead of a blank wall, I saw a place I wanted to visit.

Switzerland-based Catecar extended-range vehicle is tested in Geneva

Toyota, Hasbro will create Monopoly ‘course’ at Chicago Auto Show

The Japanese automaker is teaming up with board-game maker Hasbro to create a mini road course based on the Monopoly board game at the Chicago Auto Show , which Toyota will use to pitch its latest batch of hybrid vehicles. Toyota and Hasbro are using more than 30,000 square feet, or about two-thirds of an acre, inside McCormick Center’s South Hall for the course, where trained drivers will pick up visitors in Prius V wagons, Camry Hybrids and Highlander Hybrids, and drive them through the S-curve-filed course
